Email is just a great tool
Email has been a form of communication for the past 30 years. And, although in the last 5 years, it has lost track, it is still very important when planning your Digital Marketing Strategy, as we mentioned in a previous Blog. It is a way to reach your customers directly with the goal of engaging them and increasing sales. There are many types of marketing emails, but the most common are these:
- Welcome emails
- Email newsletters
- Promotional emails
- Feedback or survey emails
- Milestone emails (birthdays or anniversaries)
Email marketing is one of the tools that offer the best cost-benefit, for example, in the past two years the average ROI for email marketing was in the range of $35 to $40 for every $1 spent. Our main base of customers resides in the Retail industry and Real Estate the average ROI is over $45 per dollar spent. By using email, we need to engage previous customers, and ask well as attract new ones. There are many factors that influence the success of your email, so let’s list some of the most important:
- Subject line – it has to be VERY attractive since it is the first line read
- Design – Simple and clean. Do not include many pictures as this may set the email as junk mail
- Unsubscribe – if a customer opts out, do not send them any more emails
- Clear message – make it easy for the readers to know what you are offering: discount, promo, combo, etc
In the body of your email, please think about the priority of the messages you are sharing. If you have more than one, place the most important or urgent first. Less is best! Write a brief description and share a way for them to reach out for more information. Use links to take the readers to your landing page or website where they can learn more about your offers, services, and products.
In short, email is a great tool to promote your business. There are many tools, and some of them have free versions that would be a great first step. Please do not hesitate to ask us for a recommendation and we can also help you design your strategy.
